A surprise demonstration

After two years of doing flower arrangement, my mentor, Mr David Lim had to do a demonstration at Singapore Science Centre.This photo was taken at the venue there were a lot of audience I was there to assist my mentor but ended up doing a demonstration(which was a surprise invitation).I was shocked but very overwhelmed by my mentor's faith in my capabillities.All the audience were pleased with my demostration.This was the first demonstration that I did.

Year 1980

In six months ,I have learnt a lot of design like Japanese style ikebana and western style.So with this two styles of arrangements,I did a combination of both styles and became free style arrangements.They are very interesting.In 1980 my flower shop became the top florist in Singapore. I still remember we had to do a flower design for a church wedding. After a month later, a chinese T.V program wants us to do a car decoration, and our decoration was shown on TV.For the shoot,we used nets(netting) for the first time.We were the first florists to invent the use of netting.Before this,florists only used ribbons.A combination of flowers and netting makes a car decoration look more spectacular.

A year later, I started to do my first flower arrangment.It was kind of funny. I learn to do basic arrangement that is a round shape I used red roses and some orchids .To me was ok, but to my mentor it not .Then I tried a second time and still not that good,I never give up keep trying until I get a perfect.The next day I do the same thing round,oval and tringle.It take sometime to get nice decoration .It was not that easy .A few month later then I get used to it, first learn was the name of flower there so many kind of flower, some of the fower a from Holland and Cameroon island.

Floral decoration vs Rockers

I started learning about flower arrangement when I was sixteen years old, I have zero knowledge ,I didn`t know about flowers .That time I was just a boy who send flowers to offices ,hospitals ,hotels and funerals. Just working from 9 to 5 job day in day out .When I finish my job,I go jamming with my buddies every weekend.

Everyday I look at the way my mentor do the floral decoration is different from other floral decoration.The way he arranged the floral decoration with passion.He used all kinds of flower and material , it's different from hard rock music.It's funny when i think the way my lifestyle with my work as a floral decoration assistant and playing music is totaly different.

My music is all hard rock,we play like deep purple,rainbow,bad company and all kind s of music.I as lead vocal I sing my music with my passion and my mentor do the floral decoration with his passion.
